On August 6th, 1993 (A.S. XXVIII), these
eight gentles gathered
and started the Incipient Canton of Cúm an Iolair:

making the group the Canton of Cúm an Iolair.

2004 (A.S. XXXIX), the group advanced from being a canton of the Barony of Forgotten Sea to being an independent group, the Shire of Cúm an Iolair. |

Misc.
The name Cúm an Iolair is Gaelic for "Valley of Eagles" and the eagle is the group's totem.
Cúm an Iolair's annual birthday event is called The Feast of Eagles.
Cúm an Iolair, early in it's history, held an event called The Winter of the Pig's Discontent which had a pig theme.
Cúm an Iolair has held two events whose theme was Halloween-based: Revenant's Revel & Revenant's Revel II.
Cúm an Iolair has held a Crusader event known as The Saracen's Head.
Heraldry, heraldic banners and heraldic display have always played an important part in Cúm an Iolair events.
When Cúm an Iolair advanced from
canton to shire status, it had already held 26 events (these included 9
Clothier's Seminars,
a Crown Tourney, a Kingdom Heraldic Symposium, a Harvest Faire, 2 Revenant's
Revels, a Saracen's Head, a Winter
of Pig's Discontent and 10 Feasts of Eagles), as well as providing a site for
BFS to hold a Coronation event.
Akraziel is the name of the angel known as the Celestial Herald. Also
called a Herald of the Lord,
Akraziel is the
angel of the
last portal in the Seventh Heaven.
Gabriel is known as one of the herald angels, known as
the divine
messenger who reveals God’s will to humanity and the one
who
is destined to announce the end of the world.
